About
We like
bad ideas.
Sinful Sound exists for producers who want tools with personality. Not another transparent EQ. Not another compressor that promises to be “invisible.” We build the plugin you reach for when invisible isn’t the goal — when you want the track to sound like it was mixed by something that doesn’t care about your warranty.
Every unit starts as a real analog reference — a 1176-style FET compressor, an opto leveler, a clipper circuit — modeled carefully enough to behave like the hardware it’s named after. Then we push the interface somewhere the original manufacturer never would have: ratio dials that go past 10:1 into DOOM, oversampling modes labeled SACRILEGE, meters that read AGONY instead of dB.
That’s not a skin. It’s the point. A ratio control that stops at a civilized 10:1 tells you the plugin was built for restraint. Ours keep going, because the producers we build for — metal, hardcore, deathcore, industrial, anyone chasing a mix that hits like a wall — don’t stop at restraint either.
DSP philosophy
Character before cleanliness. We’d rather ship a saturation stage with an opinion than a transparent one with none. Every control is designed to have an obvious, physical-feeling effect — nothing that requires a manual to understand what “more” sounds like.
Why the interfaces look like this
Because the plugins already look like hardware someone found in a basement, we didn’t want the website to just repeat that. The site is the space around the hardware — the studio it lives in, not another screenshot of it. That’s why the marketing pages stay spacious and cinematic while the plugins themselves stay dense, engraved, and a little dangerous.
Who this is for
Producers and mixing engineers working in metal, hardcore, deathcore, industrial, alternative, electronic, and cinematic music — anyone whose reference track is louder and heavier than the one before it.
